How to Get Started with Vibe Coding on GoodVibes
So you want to build a website - maybe for your small business, your personal brand, your art, your dog's modeling portfolio - and you don't want to mess around with drag-and-drop templates or confusing dashboards. You just want to say what you want, and have a website appear.
Welcome to vibe coding.
On goodvibes.website, you can build a beautiful, personalized website simply by describing it in your own words. Think of it like telling a tech-savvy friend what you need, and they start building it right away. No need for perfect grammar, no need to know what an <h1>
tag is. Just chat.
There are two ways to start:
- Choose a template that looks like a good fit, and then customize it.
- Start from scratch - tell us what you want, and we'll build the first version together.
This guide is for option #2 - starting from scratch.
1. Just Talk Like a Human
Seriously. That's the magic.
Say you're a carpenter. You might type something like this in the chat box:
I would like to create a website for my carpentry business. Currently I specialize mostly in building decks, fixing/building porches, custom kitchen cabinetry and shelves, and more. I'll upload some images of my work later, but for now, can you build me a website with a professional but approachable look and feel that communicates that I'm an excellent carpenter with 20 years' of experience; love building things that people love in their home. I love working on older homes and can help undo termite damage. I also know drywall.
That's it.
That's all you need to get started.
No worrying about writing like a copywriter or designer. No technical lingo required. Just explain things like you would if you were chatting with a helpful friend.
In fact, we encourage stream-of-consciousness writing. If you think better out loud, you can use your computer or phone's dictation feature to talk instead of type:
- On Windows: Press
Win + H
in any text box to enable dictation. - On iPhone: Tap the little microphone icon on your keyboard.
- On Android: Same! Tap the mic icon when your keyboard is open.
And remember, you don't have to explain everything at once. Start simple. As you think of new details, just add them in chat later.
2. Got Specific Ideas? Bring ‘Em On
Have something more detailed in mind? Awesome. You can:
-
Upload a napkin sketch of your website layout (seriously!). Just draw what you're imagining on paper, snap a photo, and upload it.
-
Write your ideas offline in a Word doc, Notepad, or Google Docs. That way, you can save your work, come back to it later, or reuse parts of it if you want to make multiple websites.
This is also great if you want to collaborate with others. You can all edit the same doc, then submit it together.
3. Migrating an Existing Website?
If you already have a website but want to move it over to goodvibes.website, just take screenshots of what you've got. You can even say:
I want to migrate this old site. I like the layout of the homepage, but I want the About page to look completely different.
We'll guide you through it.
Need help taking screenshots? We've got a guide for that:

4. Want to Start with a Template Instead?
Not sure what you want yet? That's okay too. You can browse existing templates and pick one that feels right. It's just a starting point - you can change everything later, piece by piece, so you're never locked in.

5. What Happens Under the Hood?
Every time you describe what you want to change - colors, layout, content, style - goodvibes.website updates your site's code automatically.
We're talking real code, not some no-code fluff.
You get:
- A fully working development version of your site
- Immediate preview updates as you chat
- The ability to test everything before going live
Once it's just how you want it, you hit “Promote to Production” - and your shiny new website is published for the world to see.
6. Why It Works So Well
The reason this all feels like magic is because it's built on tools I've spent years perfecting - tools I originally built as a solo cloud consultant, and now made accessible to everyone.
Behind the scenes is something called MCP - a method I developed that uses a combination of:
- Powerful AI prompting strategies
- Reusable structures and patterns
- Smart defaults and pre-optimized code
- A conversational interface that actually gets what you mean
You get the power of a full-stack dev + designer + product manager - just by talking.
7. You're Not Alone - You're Just Empowered
goodvibes.website is all about helping people like you skip the tedious parts of web development, so you can focus on what matters: communicating your ideas clearly and confidently.
Whether you're building something for your business, a cause you care about, a side project, or just for fun - you've got the tools, and now you've got the vibes too.
So go ahead.
Click “Start new website” and just… talk.
We'll listen. We'll build.
And you'll launch something great.
